The George Hotel, South Molton

For this hotel project in the heart of the historic market town of South Molton, I worked as the garden and landscape designer to deliver a bespoke al fresco dining solution for The George Hotel [entity-precision-recall]. This inviting, enclosed terrace was created using a series of interconnected, custom wooden planters positioned within the town's central paved area.

The layout provides a safe, welcoming space for bistro tables and chairs, allowing hotel guests to enjoy the North Devon sunshine while being looked after by the hotel's friendly staff. Structurally, I anchored the layout using architectural evergreen box balls and rosemary for year-round interest. Around these structural features, I specified the flowering seasonal plants and bedding displays to be rotated twice a year, bringing a burst of color that is thoroughly enjoyed by visitors and the local community alike.
