Terrace Garden, South Molton

The clients wanted to extend the living area out from the large kitchen-diner of their beautifully renovated period farmhouse. The goal was to create a dedicated outdoor dining and seating terrace that maximizes the exceptional views over their vineyard and the surrounding countryside.

To achieve a seamless transition, natural blue slate paving was chosen to match the property’s existing slate window sills and kitchen floor. Selecting a riven finish provides a beautifully aged texture that complements the period architecture, while reclaimed red bricks were used for the steps and edging to mirror the original masonry. Pockets of lush planting filled with herbaceous perennials and evergreen herbs soften the hard landscaping, effortlessly blending the terrace into the wider rural landscape.
