Courtyard Garden, Braunton

A Mediterranean-style courtyard garden featuring a raised pond, designed as a tranquil retreat to the side of a larger lawned garden. The clients requested a separate, peaceful space for contemplation, centred around a feature pond and a sculptural fountain.

To create a harmonious feel, the design utilizes compacted gravel and local stone to blend similar, warm colour tones together. Large stone benches offer seating alongside a set of four specimen olive trees, each anchored within a sharp granite-sett square. The structural layout uses geometric box hedging to contain seasonal flowers, relying on a sophisticated colour palette of greys, greens, whites, and blues to ensure a calm, restful atmosphere.
