Contemporary Garden, Instow
Contemporary garden for a youthful retired couple wanting a garden with clean lines to fully compliment their brand new home. Using similar materials to create an inside / outside living area to enjoy with family and friends.
The garden was gently terraced to create more interest and deal with the gently sloping site. This created a large terrace seating area running directly out from the house. With easy stone steps up to the lawn, summerhouse and planting. Paul designed the retaining walls to double as raised planters and ran the brickwork straight through to edge the paving and lawn in such a way as to visually connect all areas of the garden.
With a centrepiece water feature using a granite sphere sat on top of a grating covered with large pebbles. Bringing water into the garden in a family friendly and safe way. This sculptural feature is planted behind with a specimen olive tree for visual impact as seen from the sitting room.
