Contemporary Garden, Bovey Tracey
A contemporary garden in Bovey Tracey, designed for an active retired couple who had recently moved to the edge of Dartmoor. The completely walled plot offered a wonderfully sheltered, private canvas. To overcome the sloping terrain, we introduced three distinct terraces, creating level, functional zones in place of the steep incline.
The layout provides easy-to-maintain spaces for outdoor relaxation, connected by wide, inviting steps. While the lower terrace features a lush lawn, the upper levels combine large natural stone pavers with compacted gravel. Softening the hard landscaping, Mediterranean-style planting blends directly into the gravel, beautifully framing a pair of semi-mature olive trees.
